Castlevania and Mega Man coming to Nintendo’s little white box; one returning to form and the other…err…. not so much.

____Well it’s official, Nintendo Power has just confirmed that the recently discovered Mega Man 9 is indeed coming to Wii as a WiiWare download. What’s even better; the game is going to rock NES-esque graphics in the ultimate return to form for the long running series.

____Needless to say I could not be more psyched. I am not only a huge Mega Man fan, I am also someone who feels that the Blue Bomber was in serious need of a makeover and just like what all those flashy makeover shows on TV do to aging women, Capcom simply made Mega Man look like it’s younger self. This officially puts Capcom in the spot of my favorite 3rd party developer on Wii — as if Zack & Wiki wasn’t enough.

____In all seriousness though, I really did completely forget about FFCC:MLK, I was just too attached to Lost Winds, beating it twice before I finally gave FFCC a chance. All that changed pretty quickly when I finally got a chance to play it though, because I can’t put it down now. Make the jump to find out more. Continue reading

WiiWare is finally here Wii owners and from the look of things it may be off to a great start. Today’s WiiWare launch in NA brought with it several promising titles like Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Defend your Castle but what I was looking forward to the most was a quaint little platformer called Lost Winds. Nintendo gets ready to unleash its downloadable games service, is your fridge ready?

In just a couple of days Nintendo will finally release its long awaited addition to the Wii Shop channel, it’s called WiiWare. WiiWare is a downloadable games service which provides games made specifically for the Wii system, unlike the already established “Virtual Console” which offers games from classic consoles instead. With the launch of WiiWare Nintendo seems to be trying to change the tides of the downloadable game market as many independent developers have come out to sing the praises of the service in comparison to competitors offerings like “Xbox live Arcade” (XBLA) or the “Playstation Network Store”. This seems to be a direct result of Nintendo trying to make it as easy as possible for small developers to get a chance to put their game on the service.
