Does Frontier Developments WiiWare platformer meet expectations, or does it blow hard?

WiiWare is finally here Wii owners and from the look of things it may be off to a great start. Posted in Wii with tags , , on May 8, 2008 by gamewhisperer

Well I was quite excited about being able to do an easy “impressions” post today but it appears the gaming gods didn’t like that idea; either that or Nintendo is just screwing with me. You see I was really excited to hear about the launch of the Wii’s “Nintendo Channel” today and I couldn’t wait to get home from work, but alas I’ve yet to try the Nintendo Channel; however I assure you it is not do to a lack of trying. What’s Next For Pit?

To say I’m a fan of Kid Icarus would be a horrible understatement, I am, in my mind the Kid’s biggest fan. But then again that’s the same thing every prepubescent girl screaming at the heals of Justin Timberlake would claim about said pop-star; so I guess such a claim doesn’t warrant much credibility.  But what I can definitely assure you is that there are few people as excited about all the talk of a new Kid Icarus game as I am.

Well, we may be in luck, because if the candor of the recent IGN Wii podcasts is any implication than in a little more than 2 months, at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) we may see some new details on the game. But this brings to mind the question; what do I, as a major KI fan, want to see in the new game? Make the jump to find out.

A sad tale of victory from Mario Kart Wii

The battle had raged on for what seemed like an eternity but the most epic race of my life was nearing an end — and i was going to loose. It had been three exhausting laps of hair pins turns and he bested me at every one. I kept my pace and matched up with him at times but I had to accept it, I was beat and I couldn’t care less because this race was the best gaming experience I had had in years. But just as I came to this realization, from the back of the ranks a spiked blue turtle shell flew above my head, it’s path set straight for my worthy opponent who was about to claim his well deserved spot in first place. The shell crashed on his head and his little cart flew in the air as if in slow motion… it was my opening. I unleashed a burst of speed from a power slide I had been working into and drove right past him… I won… but I didn’t feel like I deserved it. My win had been tainted by a horrible problem which effects gamers across the world, I call it the “Blue Shell of Doom” — original right?
